Pond Life
Our ponds are lively, interactive ecosystems filled with lotus flowers, water lilies, algae, and floating plants. They support small fish, tiny shrimp, snails, tadpoles, frogs, and many types of insects. The lotus, Thailand’s national flower, symbolises purity, rebirth, and rising above suffering because it emerges from muddy water to bloom beautifully. Almost every part of the lotus is useful: the stems can be eaten in soups and salads, the seeds make great snacks, the roots are used in medicine, the leaves are used for steaming rice, and the flowers serve as offerings or decoration.
