Little Egret

The Little Egret is a frequent visitor to our farm, easily recognised by its white plumage, slender black beak, long black legs, and yellow feet. It often hunts in the shallow waters of our rice fields, feeding on small fish, frogs, crustaceans, insects, and reptiles. Usually quiet, the egret calls out only when threatened, releasing a sharp, urgent cry. To spot one, linger near the shallow water in the evening, when it stealthily appears to surprise its prey.
